Music Theory, Composition, Ear Training, Piano
I am a composer, pianist, songwriter, music director and arranger with 30+ years' experience working in New York City. My primary areas of interest are classical music and musical theatre, but I'm knowledgeable about many areas of popular music as well. I teach composition, ear training and sight-singing, music theory and piano. I have helped improve the musical skills of clients from age eight to seventy-two. My approach is patient and low-key; I find that motivation comes best from love of...
Microsoft Windows
I have worked part-time over the last few years in desktop support for small companies that included Windows desktops and laptops. I've been tutoring individuals on the use of computers, including Windows machines, for several years. I am patient, and good at explaining the underlying metaphors of computer use.
Macintosh
I have been using the Macintosh operating system for almost 25 years, and iOS since shortly after it came out. I have been answering questions about how to use Apple products (and helping troubleshoot devices) that entire time. I have provided desktop support to office workers using Macintosh, including Mail, Microsoft Office and other software. I'm very comfortable with the Apple ecosystem, including Time Machine, iTunes and iCloud—I use all of them myself.
piano
I am a professional pianist with 30 years' experience, working in classical, music theatre and pop venues. I am a patient, good-humored teacher. Curriculum and goals are individualized for the student; some people want to play pop music, some to play Mozart, and that's fine with me.

general computer
I am a musician by trade, but I have had a sideline for many years as a technology tutor, helping people figure out how to use Macs, Windows PCs, iPads, iPhones and other gadgets. I'm patient, and I understand the frustrations of dealing with these machines—I use them every day. I read manuals so you don't have to!
